What do we make?
Total Petrochemicals & Refining USA, Inc. produces polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, and transportation fuels. Additionally we have a 40% interest in the BASF FINA Petrochemical steam cracker in Port Arthur, Texas, which produces 2.1 billion pounds of ethylene, 1.2 billion pounds of propylene yearly with a 880 million pound annual capacity for butadiene.  The Port Arthur Refinery processes 174,000 barrels per day of crude oil with conversion capabilities centering on Coking, FCC and Reforming technologies.

How many sites does Total Petrochemicals & Refining USA, Inc. have and where are they?
We have four major manufacturing sites:

  • Port Arthur Refinery produces transportation fuels, propylene, benzene, toluene, xylene, and other products.
  • Carville, Louisiana produces polystyrene and styrene.
  • La Porte, Texas produces polypropylene.
  • Bayport, Texas produces polyethylene.
